A year ago, a Polish parent reached out to me for help with her undiagnosed little boy who struggled to speak English. She needed a specialist, bilingual tutor who could understand him and support him with his needs. She had been looking everywhere for months until she found me.

Unfortunately due to the language barrier, I was unable to continue supporting them. I felt frustrated that I wasn’t able to help, and despite my best efforts, I struggled to find anyone else who could.

I was inspired to help them and others like them.

And so, The Learning Compass was born.

ACCEPTANCE CRITERIA

We are always looking for people to join our team who have a passion for making a difference.

Speaking more than one language is not compulsory however bear in mind that many of our students are multilingual and seek guidance navigating the UK education system in their native language.

We are looking for dedicated, knowledgeable individuals whether that means you are 10 months or 10 years into your journey.

We welcome experience and expertise in neurodiverse education, psychology and therapy.

Please see below for our full acceptance criteria in becoming a tutor.

  • Proof of ID (passport or driving license)
  • Certificates of qualifications or proof of study
  • 2 references: including 1 personal reference and 1 professional/educational reference
  • 1 year experience working in a related field or 2 years of study in a related field
  • An updated CV and DBS certificate
  • The ability to tailor and personalise sessions according to the students’ needs and learning requirements.
  • A flexible approach with the dedication and passion needed to supporting individuals of different backgrounds and neurotypes.

HOW IT WORKS

  2. Complete application and upload required documents: DBS certificate, CV, qualifications and references.
  3. Wait for students to message you after you have come up in a search that matches their learning requirements and language needs.
